UX for a Blockchain trading app
ETHAX wanted to build a Blockchain trading app and when I was contacted the mechanics were mostly in place. So my mission here was architecture and user interface.
This was a 6-month project for a small team, and I was the lead UX designer, responsible for research, wireframing, and prototyping
After a few meetings with the client and the development team, we got to work on finishing up the wireframes. To do this I had to do some research on similar apps and narrow down some reference points that were agreed upon with both the client and dev team.
The WHAT
Trading platforms are usually overwhelming for new users and inexperienced traders, but the clutter and information are a must-have as any indicator can give insight into forming a strategy.
Often, new traders struggle to understand and don't really want to understand the whole intricacies of trading, but they would trust a system to do it automatically. So, the goal was to try and make it so that even the inexperienced would find a way to invest on this platform.
The HOW
We designed a dashboard that allowed users to rapidly find and automate bots with their investments.
I built a hires prototype and started testing with 10 people who had low to medium knowledge about trading. The prototype was validated with a 79% task success rate.
After a few iterations on some of the sections, we got to the point that everything was signed off and started working on the UI having in mind both desktop and mobile versions as the client was also going to create a mobile app.
The modular design did the trick so that elements were going to be useful in both a web app and a native mobile app.
Also created a prototype for the mobile version
