What I Do
Senior Product Designer, 7+ years on the product side after 11 years as an art director and creative director in advertising. The two halves of that résumé look like a pivot from the outside. From the inside it's been one long argument with the same question: why are people actually doing this, what stops them, and what would get them to act?
I work research-first, even on a deadline. If the budget for user interviews is zero, I'll pull five conversations out of friends-of-friends, competitor review pages, and Reddit threads before I open Figma. The product wins I'm proudest of came from a single uncomfortable question asked in the right room. Sometimes mine, sometimes a stakeholder's, sometimes a user who didn't know they were giving me the answer.
Advertising trained one eye on what makes people act. Product keeps the other honest about whether it worked: completed, converted, came back.
